GSR8-12/630-25kA normal-pressure air-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear is a medium-voltage switchgear developed according to the State Grid Corporation's standard customization documents. This product is mainly used in 10KV 50Hz three-phase AC power supply systems and is also suitable for important power supply sites such as power plants, residential communities, industrial and mining enterprises, and substations, enabling uninterrupted and reliable power supply. Modular Design
Includes load switch cabinet units (C), circuit breaker cabinet units (V), metering cabinet units (M), bus PT cabinet units, and node cabinet units, with different modules that can be freely combined into a ring main unit.
Fully Insulated and Fully Sealed Design
The GSR8 series ring network switchgear continues the fully sealed design concept of SF6 ring main units and eco-gas cabinets. It encloses the primary live parts and the switch body within a 2.0mm stainless steel gas-tight chamber. The main circuit is connected externally through bushings installed on the gas chamber that comply with the DIN47636 standard, and connects to the incoming and outgoing line bushings through fully insulated, fully shielded, and fully sealed separable connectors. The gas chamber has an IP67 protection rating. Inside the chamber, vacuum testing is performed to ensure no leak points, and the vacuum also removes moisture from the air chamber, which is then filled with dry, clean air at the same pressure as the external environment, avoiding the risk of leaks common in pressurized gas chambers. This ensures there is no pressure difference between the inside and outside of the chamber, preventing deformation of the gas chamber. Additionally, molecular sieves are installed to enhance moisture absorption, ensuring that the primary live components operate in a clean environment. The internal gas chamber is unaffected by external conditions and has short-term flood and condensation resistance.
Flexible and Scalable Design
The product uses side or top extension sleeves for connection, avoiding direct contact with live components. It features a modular design, and the extension ports use standard interfaces, allowing for multiple types of insulated ring main units to be combined, enabling product interchangeability and compatibility.
High Safety and Reliability
Equipped with a spring-operated mechanism developed in-house, with optimized components and simplified transmission structure, the mechanism is more stable overall and the transmission is more flexible, with potential for intelligent control. The interlock uses rigid connections, which are more reliable than flexible connections. The product features both mechanical and electrical interlocks to prevent misuse. The equipment is equipped with a reliable pressure release device and relief channels to ensure personal safety in case of a malfunction, and it has a comprehensive mechanical interlock system to prevent operational errors.
Operating Structure
The GSR8 series ring main units use a highly reliable, simple spring-operated mechanism with reclosing functionality for the circuit breaker. The energy storage is equipped with a double spring system to ensure balanced energy output, guaranteeing minimal fatigue degradation of the spring during long-term energy storage operation. The isolating mechanism features dual-hole operation and mechanical interlocking between the two operating shafts, effectively preventing misoperation. Independent energy release springs are used for isolate-close and isolate-earth operations, more effectively preventing switch refusal to close or open due to mechanical fatigue.
Switch
The GSR8 series ring network switch adopts a three-phase integrated structure with shaft-driven three-phase switches, ensuring the consistency and synchronization of switching operations across all three phases. The switch has a phase spacing of 200mm, effectively preventing phase-to-phase short circuits. The switch employs mature vacuum arc extinguishing technology for arc quenching, ensuring that the product can effectively interrupt fault currents in the event of a fault. The switch does not require auxiliary gas insulation and fully meets insulation level requirements relying solely on its own creepage distance.
Smart Ring Main Unit System
The GSR8 series ring main units, paired with our JHK-Power smart ring main unit monitoring system, utilize our company's power Internet of Things (IoT) technology combined with online and offline services to realize the concept of intelligent electricity usage for distribution systems with "no on-site staff and no supervision required." This system, used with the GSR8 normal-voltage air-insulated ring main unit series, features compact design and environmental friendliness. It integrates intelligent control with data services, deeply combining primary equipment with secondary control. Through a smart gateway, it collects, analyzes, and processes data, which is then stored on a cloud platform. Edge algorithms and big data analytics are employed to assess the operation and "health" status of the equipment.
Secondary Circuit Standardization
For the GSR8 series ring main units, the secondary control circuit can be configured according to customer requirements. It can be paired with secondary circuit modules to optimize and combine the secondary circuits between PT cabinets, incoming line cabinets, and outgoing line cabinets into several secondary circuit modules. The module functions replace the traditional multi-component secondary control model, achieving integration. The DTU operation module is eliminated and incorporated into the secondary modules. Connectors use standard rectangular connectors, compatible with both distributed and centralized DTU access requirements. Control cables are custom harnessed to connect between secondary modules, achieving a design with no exposed terminals.

Welding and Sealing Technology
The GSR8 series ring network cabinet products draw on advanced industry experience and introduce high-precision CNC laser cutting machines, CNC punching, bending, and other equipment from joint venture brands to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the gas tank components. Welding is carried out using ABB welding robots for cold arc welding of the gas tank, which not only ensures the strength of the welds but also solves the problem of stainless steel welding deformation, ensuring the switch can move freely inside the gas tank without being affected by its deformation. The switch assembly area uses a dust-free workshop with constant temperature and humidity, ensuring that the inside of the gas tank is free from dust and moisture. Through assembly line operations, the consistency and accuracy of the product installation are ensured.
